New Year's Resolution

The start of a new year is a great time to reflect on your life. How are things going for you? Is there an area of your life that you would like to see some change in? Focus on one area and write a solid 5-7 sentence paragraph using at least 3 different sentence types.

For this new year, I have some areas in my life I would like to change. For one I want to spend more time with my family. For example hangout a lot more with my brother and my parents instead of my friends. The other area I would like to participate in would be in more school activities.I haven't really been doing that and it would be very fun as well as educational because i would be meeting new people and making new friends. That is what I would like to change for the new year.

Things have gone quite well for me this year. However, there is always room for improvement. More specifically, next year I'd like to dedicate more time to studying for the SATs, and I'd like to spend more of my free time reading fiction. I finally got my PSATs back, and though I did very well in Critical Reading and Writing my Mathematics was B-grade. As I'd like to be an engineer, I need improve on that before I take the actual SATs. When I'm not studying, I tend to spend my time before one screen or another. Meanwhile, there are two books I have yet to finish and far more that I'd like to begin. While I’m certainly a minor bibliophile, I wouldn’t say I’m well-read by adult standards. If I can reach these two goals in 2012, I shall be immensely satisfied.

Though hardship always likes to rear its ugly head, being strong in its wake has been harder for me lately than usual. Maybe because the cost and the chances have been growing in intensity with each trial. Maybe because I'm not as durable as I once believed I was. In contrast, I recently met someone who truly inspired me, which in turn made me realize what I want to do with my life. That helped me. As for changes? Many, many points of my life come to mind. I guess to just keep getting up when I get knocked down. But, in a phrase that I'd like to try and remember all year: Be inspired.

2011 treated me very well. I had many oppurtunites that I may never get again. Although I lacked organizational skills due to all of my extra cirricular activites, I feel as the semester progressed I made improvements in this area. One thing I have found difficult this year is reading my core literture book. I have put it off til the very last minute and I dont feel as if this was the best idea. next semester i plan to read my book at the beginning of the semester so I don't have it hanging over my head.
